Curtain with traditional Mandala

Mandalas are ancient, circular symbols of power, designed in colorful or harmonious tone-on-tone. Viewing the mandala can help one sink into meditation, allowing for deep relaxation and spiritual experience.

In the culture of India and Tibet, mandalas are firmly established as a meditation aid. Buddhists draw mandalas of sand to neutralize their karma.

The effect of a mandala curtain

A mandala curtain radiates calmness, order and peace. It lets you relax after a hard day at work, stimulates your imagination and fills your home with loving energy. You can increase this effect by lighting an incense stick and playing meditation music in the background.

Mandala curtains set the right mood in rooms where energy work or yoga classes are offered. The concentric patterns catch the eye and always lead it to the center. This prevents distraction and directs the focus to the essential.

Which mandala curtain suits me?

There are various forms of mandalas and these come in different color combinations. Colors are known to have a great impact on our mood and the atmosphere in the room.

A colorful curtain with a mandala in front of the window will immerse your room in that particular color when the light hits it. A green curtain has a calming effect, blue promotes concentration and curtains in red or orange make the room cozy and comfortable.

If you have a large, bright room with high ceilings, a dark mandala curtain can create a suitable contrast. If your room is rather small and dominated by dark colors, we recommend a curtain in light colors with a not too intrusive pattern.

Mandala curtains made of 100% cotton

Each Mandala curtain is made of pure cotton and traditionally printed by hand. The fabric of the curtain is thin but sturdy and can be draped decoratively. Each Mandala curtain is made from a traditional Mandala cloth. This is cut in half and the matching loops are sewn from fabric remnants of the production.

A mandala curtain needs special care

Karmandala curtains are traditionally woven from cotton and dyed, or printed with natural dyes. They require careful care without aggressive detergents and fabric softeners. Read more about this in our general care instructions.
