Tapestry with elephant mandala in turquoise & orange

The mandala tapestry, printed on one side, shows individual patterns of elephants, donkeys and peacock birds in its circles.

These emblematic animals are the most revered animals in Rajasthan. The elephant has always been a symbol of luck and a long life.

The donkey symbolizes strength and endurance and the peacock is revered as a majestic bird whose sighting is successful and a life of prosperity.

In the center, the mandala consists of oriental block print patterns, consisting of tendrils, flowers and leaves.

These show the close connection to nature and thus to life itself.

The outer edge pattern consists of brightly colored leaves decorated with tendrils. The pattern was applied using the old block printing stamp technique.

Imprint: turquoise, orange and red.

Background: dark blue.
