Where does Hamsa come from?
The origin of the symbolic hand is believed to be in North Africa and the Middle East. According to the belief, the symbol has spread from there all over the world.
The story of Hamsa begins in the years 606 to 632. Fatima was the youngest daughter of the Prophet Mohammed, who is venerated in the Islamic faith as a sinless virgin.
What is the meaning of Hamsa?
Fatima’s hand has a similar symbolic meaning in all cultures and religions. An openly shown hand radiates a protective or blessing power: Not only in Islam, but also in Christianity with the blessing hand of the Virgin Mary and in Judaism with the hand of Miriam.
